ARE YOU A NORMAL JUDGE?

The cover my boo to be soon published

The manuscript of my book, ‘Are You a Normal Judge? On Law and Other Things’, has now gone for printing to the publisher Law & Justice Publication Co. New Delhi.

As I enter the 75th year of my life, I find myself reflecting on a journey of more than five decades in the legal world—as a lawyer, a judge, and a teacher.

Looking back, I realise that I made some mistakes; if I had the opportunity to live my life again, there are a few things I would certainly do differently. I also came to see some shortcomings in our legal system. But equally, I was fortunate to stumble upon many unexpected gems—insights, experiences, and lessons that helped shape my understanding of law and life.

Over the years, I shared many of these reflections on this blog. Friends persuaded me that they deserved a wider audience and should be brought together in a book. This volume is the result of that encouragement. It contains those reflections, together with a number of new essays.

The title comes from a question that was once asked of me at an international conference. The question stayed with me long after the conference ended and eventually became the title of the book.

I hope readers will find these pages interesting, thought-provoking, and, at times, entertaining.

I look forward to sharing the book with you soon.
