This post is review of the book 'Tata Stories' by Harish Bhat.

Sometimes ago, I read Hindi translation of 'Tata Stories' written by Harish Bhat. These are forty gems from the Tata House, all inspiring stories followed by a moral of the story. It is a book worth reading, worth presenting to young minds to inspire them to be great.

The story that I liked most in the book, is about Jubilee Diamond.

The Jubilee Diamond, originally known as the Reitz Diamond, It was originally named after Francis William Reitz, the then president of the Orange Free State where the stone was discovered, before being renamed to honour the 60th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Victoria in 1897. It is the sixth-largest diamond in the world and is double the size of Kohinoor.

Dorabji Tata purchased it around 1900 for his wife Meherbai Tata. At that time, it was the biggest diamond in the world. In 1920, Tata Steel went through financial crises and Meharbai pawned it with the Imperial Bank to pay the salary of the employees. It reclaimed when financial crisis was over. Meherbai died of leukaemia in 1931. She gave her jewellery as well as Jubilee diamond to Tata sons Trust, who later sold it and from the money received, apart from other things, Tata cancer Hospital was established.

Moral of the story is, 'It is not important how much money you have got, the important thing is how you spend it.'
Well, don't miss reading the book.
